This marvellous event is not just about presenting Cartier’s High Jewlery but it goes much deeper than that because it celebrates the brand’s legacy and the impact of all the iconic figures that have helped shape the brand’s identity.
It’s important for any brand to stick by its identity and understand the impact of heritage. To make this event a success, The Cartier High Jewlery exhibition excelled in taking the extra mile to bring forth something quite exquisite. It went deep into the fundamentals of one of the founding rulers of the Kingdom who also helped shape Saudi Arabia. For that event, the late King Faisal’s Palace was transformed into an almost surreal place. The beautiful details and the intricate carving on the walls literally transported us to the late King’s era.
This impressive event was so well thought out that it gave us all goose bumps and really strengthened our admiration for the late King Faisal who was a man of tremendous class, intellect and an iconic figure in Saudi heritage.
To walk into his actual palace and see iconic pieces such as those worn by the legendary Wallis Simpson, Elizabeth Taylor and a plethora of others is a proof that we have progressed tremendously over the years.
Nothing can create more impact than heritage. What has been done here will go down in history, not just as another High Jewlery event but as another step on the path of merging historical figures together and celebrating all their wonderful legacies that continue to live on.
To me and my family we all have an extra special place for the late King Faisal as he was a very close friend to my grandfather who was the head of the Royal Court. This is one of my favorite pictures of King Faisal and my grandfather Ibrahim Sulaiman Alakeel taken while they were both playing with the snow at the White House.
So to revisit his actual home made that event even more special. There, I certainly enjoyed looking at all the wonderful details on the walls and all the other decorations that made the place like no other!
A violin orchestra was playing as we were all watched some of the most iconic pieces from Cartier. A very gracious and eloquent HRH Dr.Maha Bint Mishari Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud gave us an inspiring speech reiterating this ground breaking moment and the new bar that has been raised in Saudi.
